Prayer for August 10, 2020

Prayer for August 10, 2020: Please pray with me.  God who brings order to chaos, come to us.  Our world is chaotic.  How easily we turn inward on ourselves.  How easily we run scared and afraid.  How easily we turn to violence as the only solution – as if the other is not connected to us, not a neighbor.  How easily we see ourselves as the standard by which all others can be judged.  My only hope in all of this is that You, O Lord, do not hold us to these same standards.  Oh, how badly we would fail.  Thank you for having better standards.  Thank you for your mercy and grace.  Thank you for your forgiveness and peace.  Thank you for turning us towards you. Amen.
