Prayer for January 20, 2022: Please pray with me. God of vision, you bless your people with incredible gifts. Your vision is immense. It is so very attractive. Yet so many are afraid of your vision. They turn away from it – thinking that it is too good to be true, that it is out of the norm of their experience, that it just a pipe dream. Too many put your ways aside at the first sign of trouble, unwilling to try your ways – the way of peace, grace, mercy, forgiveness, hospitality, welcome, and justice. But we are not called not to turn away from you, but to face you, to take in your ways. To see how your ways transform us so that we can be used by you to transform others. Your vision is grand. And it is costly. But well worth the price. Amen.

Call to action: Contemplate God’s vision – the Kingdom of God, the reign of God. What does it look like? What does it sound like? And is God calling you to in God’s vision?
