Prayer for July 1, 2020

Prayer for July 1, 2020: Please pray with me.  God of vision, open our eyes to the vision of your Kingdom.  We get caught up in fighting against this and that – things that are unjust and downright evil.  But do you call us to fight – to use those systems and their means against them?  No.  You don’t even see evil and unjust systems as legitimate.  Instead, you push them aside as if they are nothing, and you implement a more just world, more just systems.  Change our hearts Lord.  Turn us from giving legitimacy and accommodation to unjust and sinful systems that oppress, exploit, kill, and destroy.  Radically reorient us towards you and your Kingdom of justice, peace, and love.  It is the only Kingdom that is legitimate.  Why would we participate willingly in another way?  That makes absolutely no sense.  Bring us to our senses Lord.  Thank you for your never failing invitation to participate in the unfolding of your Kingdom.  Amen.
