Prayer for July 24, 2020

Prayer for July 24, 2020: Please pray with me.  God of hope, we need you now more than ever.  We need hope.  In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he writes “Now hope that is seen is not hope.”  Give us real hope.  We don’t need empty rhetoric or promises, we don’t need big speeches and fancy words.  We don’t need statements of greatness.  We need hope.  And the only hope that matters is the hope that you give.  It is hope for a future – a future that is unfolding and moving us towards your Kingdom.  It is your Kingdom that will last, unlike all earthly kingdoms and nations that will pass away in time.  You are hope itself – draw us into you and your hope.  Amen.
