Prayer for July 28, 2020

Prayer for July 28, 2020: Please pray with me.  God of grace, God of mercy, thank you.  Thank you for grace and mercy.  You are not a God of karma.  You don’t give us what we deserve.  That’s a relief.  We’d be screwed otherwise.  No, instead you give us what we don’t deserve and you withhold what we do deserve. Thank you.  We are not capable of earning your love or salvation.  We can’t do it on our own.  We aren’t going to be divine beings.  Instead, you come to us, where we are, and make us fully human.  You come to us, not waiting for us to find our way to you.  We are lost – how could we find you.  We can’t see you even in good times – we’re too busy patting ourselves on the back to be bothered.  Forget about when times are tough.  But you come to us.  You remind us of our humanity.  And you love us in spite of our brokenness.  Thank you.
