Prayer for July 6, 2020

Prayer for July 6, 2020: Please pray with me.  God of wonder, fill us.  Fill us with wonder about you.  Let us not get caught in fighting against evil and injustice so much that we become that which we fight against.  Do not let hate take up residence in us.  As Henri Nouwen once said, “when the word ‘hate’ becomes flesh, it leads to violence.”  Instead, let us look to the light of life – You oh Holy One.  Let us transfix our attention on you.  Let us see you in your creation.  Let us see you in the poor and outcast.  Let us see you in those that society has rejected.  Let us see you in the foreigner and the enemy.   Let us see you in those we have trouble loving.  Let us see you so that we may move in the direction of your kingdom.  Let us live into the beauty of your kingdom.  Amen.
