Prayer for November 10, 2020

Prayer for November 10, 2020: Please pray with me. God of transformation, you are dangerous. That’s not a prayer we expect is it? But then again, why do so many expect to be in control when you are a God of transformation? We claim to want transformation, but do we really? Because if we really did, then we would be willingly giving up control over our lives. The status quo of our lives, our comfort, our beliefs, our stuff has great pull for us. The status quo of policies and politics that benefit ourselves is very tempting. Yet, how can we possibly claim to worship you and do what we can to maintain the status quo? That makes no sense. Cure us of this irrational idea that we can worship and follow you and still maintain control over our lives and maintain the status quo in our societies. Transform us. Amen.
