The Sound of Cruelty

I am Cruelty.

I shout with all my might – “Look at me!!!”

I bring pain and suffering.

The only time that exists is right now – I don’t want you to think about the past or the future. That would give you options apart from me.

I can’t handle there being joy, or unity, or meaning, or purpose, or anything that would move you towards what you want. It’s all about me after all. “Look at me!!! I’m in charge!!! I tell you what to do!”

I am Cruelty.

I have a secret.

Those that use me think they can control me. Their addiction for control is their own downfall. I can’t be controlled. I am control.

I am Cruelty.

My greatest fear is that people will see how truly weak that I really am. Why else would I have to be so savage? Why else would I have to use force to get my way? My arguments are so weak that I don’t even bother making them – I just use whatever means I have to in order to get my way.

I will use whoever I need to. I will say whatever I need to. I will do whatever I need to. It doesn’t matter – everyone is disposable. Everyone is replaceable. Even those that are expert practitioners of me. Especially those in positions of authority. They think they use me. The reality is that they are being used. And then discarded. They seek adulation to sooth their broken egos, their trauma, their hurts and pains. But as soon as they die off, the people will forget them gladly. It is cruel.

That is the point.

I am Cruelty. I have been around for a long time. I have perfected my ways over the eons.

What’s so wonderful is that I can tell you exactly what you need to do to defeat me, and so many of you still wouldn’t veer off course from cruelty. Humanity gives me the benefit of the doubt, trying me as often as possible.

You want to defeat me – simple. See the humanity in yourself and others. Identify with others. See how you are connected. That’s it. When you can see the humanity of yourself and others, I, Cruelty, don’t make sense any more. I would say that setting me aside is my biggest fear – but I feel confident that many of you will return to me. I’m just too appealing. I make you feel like you are in control. I make you feel like a god – determining who lives and who dies.

I am Cruelty.
